Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about eye treatments.

Recovery is usually quick. Most patients can resume normal daily activities within a day or two. However, you should avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and rubbing your eyes for a few weeks as advised by the doctor.

You are generally eligible if you are over 18 years old, have had a stable eye power for at least a year, and have healthy corneas. A detailed pre-LASIK assessment will be done to confirm your suitability.

Diabetics should get a comprehensive eye examination, including a retina checkup (fundoscopy), at least once a year. High blood sugar can damage the blood vessels in the retina, leading to diabetic retinopathy.

Glaucoma often has no early warning signs. As it progresses, you may notice loss of peripheral vision, seeing halos around lights, or red eyes. Regular check-ups are essential for early detection.

Follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Ensure good lighting, blink often to keep eyes moist, and adjust your screen brightness.

Children should have their first thorough eye exam around age 3 to 5, before starting school. However, if you notice squinting, rubbing eyes, or sitting too close to the TV, consult an ophthalmologist immediately.
